SPARQLeR: Extended Sparql for Semantic Association Discovery1

چکیده
Complex relationships, frequently referred to as semantic associations, are the essence of the Semantic Web. Query and retrieval of semantic associations has been an important task in many analytical and scientific activities, such as detecting money laundering and querying for metabolic pathways in biochemistry. We believe that support for semantic path queries should be an integral component of RDF query languages. In this paper, we present SPARQLeR, a novel extension of the SPARQL query language which adds the support for semantic path queries. The proposed extension fits seamlessly within the overall syntax and semantics of SPARQL and allows easy and natural formulation of queries involving a wide variety of regular path patterns in RDF graphs. SPARQLeR's path patterns can capture many low-level details of the queried associations. We also present an implementation of SPARQLeR and its initial performance results. Our implementation is built over BRAHMS, our own RDF storage system.

Toward better debugging support on extended SPARQL queries with on-the-fly ontology mapping generation
SPARQLoid is an extended syntax of SPAQL to utilize reliability degrees in weighted ontology mappings as well as some controls of priorities to be searched based on the weights associated to the mappings. In this paper, we demonstrate a debugging support system for the use of such an extended SPARQL queries.

In the last few years, the Semantic Web gained scientific acceptance as a means of relationships identification in knowledge base, widely known by semantic association. Query about complex relationships between entities is a strong requirement for many applications in analytical domains. In bioinformatics for example, it is critical to extract exchanges between proteins. Currently, the widely k...
متن کاملBridging the Semantic Gap between RDF and SPARQL using Completeness Statements
RDF data is often treated as incomplete, following the OpenWorld Assumption. On the other hand, SPARQL, the standard query language over RDF, usually follows the Closed-World Assumption, assuming RDF data to be complete. This gives rise to a semantic gap between RDF and SPARQL. In this paper, we address how to close the semantic gap between RDF and SPARQL in terms of certain answers and possibl...
متن کاملStatistical search on the Semantic Web
MOTIVATION Statistical analysis of links on the Semantic Web is important for various evaluation purposes such as quantifying an individual's scientific research output based on citation links. SPARQL has been proposed as a standardized query language for the Semantic Web and is intuitively understandable; however, it does not adequately support statistical evaluation of semantic links. RESUL...
متن کاملSparqlFilterFlow: SPARQL Query Composition for Everyone
SparqlFilterFlow provides a visual interface for the composition of SPARQL queries, in particular SELECT and ASK queries. It is based on the intuitive and empirically well-founded filter/flow model that has been extended to address the unique specifics of SPARQL and RDF. In contrast to related work, no structured text input is required but the queries can be created entirely with graphical elem...
